TEACHING
I have been a public school teacher for over a decade. During that time I have taught band, guitar, and general music to grades K-12.
I currently teach elementary music and middle school guitar in Saint Johns County, FL.
I am a huge proponent of Orff in the general music classroom, and I strive to give students the experience of actively making music together each and every time they step into my classroom.

I love doing Orff style hands on clinics, as well as workshops for school districts, PLCs, and Orff chapters.
Topics include classroom guitar, Orff Mallet Arrangments, World Drumming, Movement, Singing, and more!

I wrote an awesome book on learning beginning guitar!
This book eliminates the non-essential theoretical information you don’t need to know and begins with concisely describing the exact skills you need to make music.
Students using this book play along with a song in their first lesson. Then, students learn another chord and play along with a new song. These are popular songs by artists that kids/adults know and love.
Students practice on songs consisting of two chords, then move onto songs with more chords systematically. In this way, every new chord/skill is tied to a new song to jam along with!
